‘The Birth of Erichthonios‘

The Stamnos is a vessel used by the ancient Greeks to store liquids and to mix wine.
A scaled down reproduction of the antiquity, painted by ‘The Painter of Munich’ and housed in Munich’s, Antikensammlungen.
Side A- Athena receives baby Erichthonios from the earthmother, with Hephaistos watching.
Side B- Zeus offers a libation bowl to Erichthonios. Nike stands in front of Zeus.
