KYLIX

Red figure circa 450 B.C.
‘STABLES’

The Kylix is a vessel used by the ancient Greeks to drink wine.
This is a scaled down reproduction of the antiquity housed in Hamberg, Museum of Kunst und Gewerbe.
This vessel is attributed to the Penthesilea painter.
Depicted on the inside of the vessel is a young man seated with a lyre and a youth watching him play.
on the outside of the Kylix cup are depictions of youths with their horses in the stables.
