‘The Trojan war’

 

The lekythos is a vessel used by the ancient Greeks to store olive oil .
The main scene in the center depicts the battle of Troy, with the death of Achilles and fighting over his body to protect his armor, is Ajax against a Trojan. Also depicted are other heroes of the Trojan war.
The rest of the vessel is decorated with traditional geometric patterns showing the complexity of this era.
